When to call us about your washer
A washer that will not drain leaves you with a drum full of water and a laundry pile that keeps growing. Most washer faults are mechanical and very repairable — it is rarely the whole machine.
We service front-load and top-load washers, including high-efficiency and stacked units. The usual suspects are a blocked or failed drain pump, worn drum bearings, a broken door lock, a failed inlet valve, or a control board throwing an error code. We diagnose which one it is on site.
Symptoms we see most
- Washer will not drain or spin out
- Water leaking from the door or underneath
- Drum banging or walking during the spin cycle
- Machine will not fill or stops mid-cycle
- Error code on the display
- Door or lid lock will not release

Keep it running: 4 things worth doing
The maintenance that prevents most of the calls we take on this appliance.
Clean the drain pump filter
Every few months. It sits behind a small door at the front base on most front-loaders and catches coins, buttons and lint.
Leave the door ajar
On front-loaders, an open door between washes stops the mould and smell that build up in a sealed damp drum.
Do not overload
An overloaded drum throws the load off balance, which is what wears the bearings and shock absorbers out early.
Use the right detergent dose
HE machines need HE detergent, and less than you think. Excess suds leave residue and confuse the level sensor.
What a repair costs
We quote before we start. A technician diagnoses the appliance in your home, explains what failed, and gives you the repair price — you decide with the number in front of you.
The trip charge covers the visit and the on-site diagnosis. If you approve the repair, labor is quoted on top based on the job.
- No charge for the quote once a technician is on site
- Genuine manufacturer parts
- 30-day labor warranty on the same issue and a 60-day warranty on the parts we install
- Card, and invoicing for commercial accounts
The Iskander Repair Promise
Every repair is backed by a 30-day labor warranty on the same issue and a 60-day warranty on the parts we install — residential and commercial alike. We fit genuine manufacturer parts, and you approve the price before any work starts. If the same fault comes back inside the warranty period, we come back out.
Washer Repair — your questions answered
Nine times out of ten it is the drain path: a clogged pump filter, an obstruction in the pump itself, or a failed drain pump. A broken lid switch or door lock will also stop a machine from spinning, because the washer will not spin unless it believes the door is secure.
Usually yes. Violent shaking on spin normally means worn drum bearings, failed shock absorbers or damaged suspension rods. Those are wear parts and we replace them. It is worth acting early — running a machine on bad bearings damages the outer tub.
Codes are brand-specific and point at a subsystem rather than an exact part — drain, heating, door lock, motor, or communication between boards. Give us the code when you call and we will bring the parts that fault most commonly needs.
Yes. Stacked and laundry-center units are serviced in place; we only separate the stack when the repair genuinely requires it.
The trip charge starts at $95 + tax and covers a technician coming to your home and diagnosing the appliance. Labor starts at $209 + tax and is quoted for your specific repair before any work begins.
Yes. Every repair carries a 30-day labor warranty on the same issue and a 60-day warranty on the parts we install. The terms are the same whether the job is residential or commercial.
