When to call us about your dryer

When a dryer needs three cycles to dry one load, it is not just annoying — it is a fire risk and a power bill. Restricted airflow is behind a large share of dryer complaints, and it is one of the cheaper things to put right.

We repair electric and gas dryers, vented and ventless, including stacked units. Common failures are a burnt-out heating element, a bad thermal fuse or thermostat, a failed igniter or gas valve coil on gas models, worn drum rollers and belts, and blocked venting.

Prevention

Keep it running: 4 things worth doing

The maintenance that prevents most of the calls we take on this appliance.

1

Clear the lint screen every load

Not most loads — every load. It is the single biggest factor in both drying time and fire risk.

2

Have the vent duct cleaned

Once a year. A crushed or blocked duct traps humid air in the drum, so nothing dries and the element runs hot.

3

Check the outside vent flap

It should open freely when the dryer runs. A stuck flap or a bird nest chokes the whole system.

4

Do not push the dryer back hard

Crushing the flexible duct behind the machine is one of the most common causes of poor drying.

FAQ

Dryer Repair — your questions answered

That is the classic airflow symptom. Start with the vent line — a blocked or crushed duct traps humid air in the drum so nothing dries. If the venting is clear, the next suspects are a failed heating element or a tripped thermal fuse on electric dryers, or the igniter and gas valve coils on a gas dryer.

Almost always. A heating element, thermal fuse or igniter is a modest part on an otherwise sound machine — repair is far cheaper than replacement. We will tell you if the motor or drum has also gone, which is when the maths changes.

Yes. We repair gas dryers including igniter, gas valve coil, flame sensor and thermostat faults.

Yes — lint trapped in a restricted duct is a genuine fire hazard, and it also makes the dryer run far hotter than it should, which is what kills elements and fuses early. If we find restricted venting during a repair we will tell you.

The trip charge starts at $95 + tax and covers a technician coming to your home and diagnosing the appliance. Labor starts at $209 + tax and is quoted for your specific repair before any work begins.

Yes. Every repair carries a 30-day labor warranty on the same issue and a 60-day warranty on the parts we install. The terms are the same whether the job is residential or commercial.
