When to call us about your oven and range
An oven that will not hold temperature quietly ruins everything you cook in it, and a gas burner that clicks without lighting is one you should not keep using. Both are standard repairs for our technicians.
We service gas, electric and dual-fuel ranges, wall ovens, cooktops and range hoods. The usual faults are a failed bake or broil element, a drifting oven temperature sensor, a bad igniter or spark module on gas models, a failed control board, or a door hinge and gasket that no longer seal the heat in.
Symptoms we see most
- Oven will not reach the set temperature
- Food cooks unevenly or burns on one side
- Gas burner clicks but will not light
- Electric element stays cold
- Self-clean cycle will not run
- Cracked glass cooktop surface

Keep it running: 4 things worth doing
The maintenance that prevents most of the calls we take on this appliance.
Keep the door seal clean
Baked-on residue on the gasket stops the door sealing, which is why an oven can run cool without anything electrical failing.
Use the self-clean sparingly
The extreme heat is hard on elements, sensors and control boards. Once or twice a year at most.
Keep burner caps dry and seated
A wet or misaligned cap is the most common reason a gas burner clicks without lighting.
Check the temperature with a thermometer
An oven thermometer tells you whether the oven really is at the set temperature. Drift of 25°F or more is worth a service call.
What a repair costs
We quote before we start. A technician diagnoses the appliance in your home, explains what failed, and gives you the repair price — you decide with the number in front of you.
The trip charge covers the visit and the on-site diagnosis. If you approve the repair, labor is quoted on top based on the job.
- No charge for the quote once a technician is on site
- Genuine manufacturer parts
- 30-day labor warranty on the same issue and a 60-day warranty on the parts we install
- Card, and invoicing for commercial accounts
The Iskander Repair Promise
Every repair is backed by a 30-day labor warranty on the same issue and a 60-day warranty on the parts we install — residential and commercial alike. We fit genuine manufacturer parts, and you approve the price before any work starts. If the same fault comes back inside the warranty period, we come back out.
Oven & Range Repair — your questions answered
Most often a failed oven temperature sensor, a weak or burnt-out bake element, or a door seal that is letting heat escape. On gas ovens a tired igniter that no longer draws enough current to open the gas valve produces the same complaint.
Stop using that burner until it is looked at. Continuous clicking usually means a dirty or cracked spark electrode, a wet burner cap, or a failed spark module — gas is being released while it tries to ignite, which is why it is worth booking promptly.
A cracked ceramic surface is replaced rather than repaired, and on some models the cost approaches a new unit. We will price the part and tell you honestly whether it is worth doing.
Yes — single and double wall ovens, including built-in installations, are part of our standard work.
The trip charge starts at $95 + tax and covers a technician coming to your home and diagnosing the appliance. Labor starts at $209 + tax and is quoted for your specific repair before any work begins.
Yes. Every repair carries a 30-day labor warranty on the same issue and a 60-day warranty on the parts we install. The terms are the same whether the job is residential or commercial.
